Do you feel a lot?  Do you avoid the news and surround yourself with only uplifting music, images, and people who inspire you?

If so, I can definitely relate.

But the thing most people don’t realize is the strength and and passion that can be grown from the depths of what we feel.  <3

My video this week touches on this topic:

Much love, everyone, and enjoy. <3

———————————————————————–

For most of my life, I’ve been very sensitive, and very selective about where I placed my focus.  I felt like I really couldn’t handle the harshness in the world that many dwell on, because I feel things too deeply and could hardly stand to be in a world that makes me hurt so badly.

I felt like something was wrong with the world, but also like something was wrong with me for not being able to handle the truth of it all… the wars, the poverty, the desperation, the destruction of the planet, the purposelessness most people I’ve known feel about their lives, sacrificing their dreams to be slaves to jobs they hate, just to survive.

So I tried to ignore it.  The world was too messed up, and I just wanted to turn a blind eye, try to be happy, to forget that feeling, and pretend that everything was okay.

But the emotions about the world were not the problem.  The real problem was how I felt about myself.

I felt weak.  That was the underlying problem.  I felt helpless.  I thought that if I faced that much shit, and felt that much disgust and panic and fear, it would kill me.  And, as someone who’s faced suicidal thoughts quite a bit along my journey, that may well have been true.  But there was something valuable that I had failed to notice, something that could change the dark feeling accompanying every problem into a powerful force that completely turns things around.

I thought that because I felt so much more than the people around me, I must be weak.  And although many of us may have thought this, it could not be farther from the truth.  When you really think about it, it takes much more strength to notice and feel the full intensity of a problem than it does to live in fear or avoidance of the only thing that can bring about the real compassion that inspires change.

Yet, I felt so small, and that the problem was so big that I couldn’t do anything to make it better.  So, I spent most of my time avoiding everything that brought me those feelings of pain, trying to be happy and ignorant… but all things, once known, cannot be truly erased.

I often retreated to fantasy and ran from the negative feelings that haunted the dark corners of my mind, and of my heart, avoiding that feeling of weakness, helplessness, fear.

And, true, I couldn’t make it all better myself, or all at once.  But what I was ignoring, was that what I held was a passion, and that I could still do something to fix it.

When you feel something powerful when a certain topic comes up, it means that whatever that is, is extremely important to you.  This is the seed of passion.

The only reason we hide from the things that make us feel this much intensity is because we have been ignoring our very purpose and strength, our ability to create change that feels fulfilling.  The thing that makes you feel the most is the thing you are meant to improve upon.

Reclaim your power.  The ones who notice how wrong something is are the ones who have the potential to create a world with a lot that’s going right.

Your sensitivity is a super power, not a curse!  We who strongly feel know, more than anyone, the deep importance of living with an intention of kindness, cooperation, forgiveness, helpfulness, and gratitude.

We are the ones who see suffering and feel the pain so deeply that we cannot ignore it.  This is our gift, should we choose to embrace it.

To deeply feel allows us to deeply care.  And to fully care inspires us to act.  Don’t RUN from the problems that pain you.  Help them to change!

Do you see injustice in the world that makes you want to cry?  GOOD!  It’s about time somebody noticed!  Now is the time to make a solid plan of action and do something about it!

Embrace something you’ve been avoiding looking at.  Start small, and look for the purpose hiding in that feeling.

What can you change that you felt powerless to before taking a second look at it?

Are you sensitive to chemicals, our messed up society,  the way you direct your life, a lack of fulfillment in the things you have to do to survive?

GOOD!  That’s an opportunity!  Start researching or talking to friends about the problems, and then make every change that you can, and start writing or making YouTube videos spreading the word about solutions so that others can apply them.

You can even look up how to make money talking about what’s important to you so that you’ll have more time and energy to dedicate to the purposes you start to choose for yourself when you start taking small consistent actions inspired by this passion.

There is never a limit to your potential that you have not placed there yourself.  There is never a feeling inside you that cannot inspire a change.  So, today, feel something powerful, and make a difference.
