Last February 17, we celebrated the martyrdom of Giordano Bruno, mystic, scientist, priest. He wisdom anticipated Galileo, Darwin, and Einstein. He supported the Copernican view that the Earth is round. As he was burned at stake, he proclaimed Jesus as his Lord and personal Savior… “In essentials, unity; in debatable, liberty; in all things, charity.” “The universe comprises all being in a totality; for nothing that exists is outside or beyond infinite being, as the latter has no outside or beyond.” Giordano Bruno, On the Cause, Principle, and Unity (fifth dialogue). Scientist may now be even referring back to Giordano Bruno for his theory of the instant interconnection of the universe faster than the speed of light. For his wisdom, his courage, his conviction even to the point of martyrdom, he has lived a life well lived. He is a model for a life well lived.
