There is a story that heaven and hell are identical. It is a place full of delicious food and all the people have very long spoons and forks. The only problem with hell is that people are starving and so frustrated in the midst of affluence because they are trying to use their very long spoons and forks to eat but to not avail. In heaven they use their long spoons and forks to feed each other. And this is why they are happy and grateful for each other. They are sensitive to each other’s needs and they care so much about others as they care for themselves. Actually the earth is also full of nature’s bounty and riches and if we all stop thinking about our individual gain and think about the other’s, then we can make a heaven on this earth. How can we give life and have it more? If we give to the world ourselves and our talents, the world will be all the more richer to give us back a hundredfold of what we gave. The key to have life is to give life. By giving more than getting, we receive more. Remember the miracle of the multiplication of the bread in the Gospels? People were getting restless and hungry in the desert where Jesus preached. Yet when Jesus asked the apostles to give out their bread, all the people were encouraged to bring out their food and they had 12 baskets of bread more after everyone has already eaten. If we all distribute equally the world’s grains production, not only would there be no hungry person in the world, there would be enough leftovers to feed another half of the world’s population.
