There was a time when science held sway demystifying all the unfounded explanations that were going on in the world. Little did i expect that now science is the one being disproved itself as a myth. For a long time, we held the myth that science and technology can save the world and bring unlimited growth and progress to the entire planet but now science and technology is the one pinpointed as the culprit behind unlimited growth to the sacrifice of ecological harmony, at the expense of the poor, and technology that emphasized on manufacturing weapons of mass destruction. (The US nuclear power alone can destroy seven planets the size of the earth) While science has increased economic production many times over, it has also led to the reproduction of poverty because of improper distribution of wealth. Where science has increased the lifespan due to medical discoveries, it has to the loss of meaning due to reductionism and fragmented way of looking at things. While science has paved the way of explaining how things work, we also have stopped to ask the question why? The world is turning and science must now give way to spirituality, connectedness, holism, and global cooperation. We must evolve new ways of thinking and doing things with a touch of connectedness to nature and concern for our neighbor. The mechanistic view of science must now give in to the holistic view of mysticism
