Some say the universe is just a random set of accidents and chance and meaningless events and there is really nothing more to it. We are just bubble that would blow up anytime and there is no teleology and direction and meaning to all this. And yet as we look at ourselves we ask, how have we come this far. How can the atom be alive? Next is how can a cell be able to think? Next is how can thinking lead to spirituality? When Biochemist H. Quasler said that the coincidence of life is ten raised to the three hundred and one power, then how can we be able to be here when the universe is only 20 billion years old at the maximum? These questions lead us to the hypothesis that there must be a Divine Mind working through the evolutionary process. Thus random chance must give way to serendipity—the careful combination of millions of chances to arrive at something new. Thus choice and necessity must also give way to destiny and the organization of chance that would shape the world. Thus as i struggle out my existence in the world, i also must find my own place in this cosmos and abandon myself to the greatness of life.
