For me self actualization means experiencing the totality of our being human–it means reaching your highest human potential and doing this for self, society, and the world. I am still a long way to my self-actualization but I feel I owe the world the best that I can be so that in my limited time on this wonderful planet, I would have lived life to the fullest. Life for me is a progression of choices where choosing the positive choices where one is able to grow makes one nearer to becoming self-actualized. There is a faint inner voice that goes clearer once our connection with our higher self becomes shiny and all interference and static reduced to a minimum. This inner voice may sometimes be mistaken for our own little minds til we recognize that it has its own independent opinion and unreasonable logic different from us. To be able to distinguish this requires an honest heart and a clear mind. Sometimes society tells us to do many things that actually need to be reviewed and critically analyzed because it drowns out the voice of our inner true selves with social sanctions, the need to belong, social rules, and cultural constraints. Yet if we pursue what in our hearts is right, then no matter what society says we will continue to grow to be our own true selves.
