My favorite prayer that i memorized as i read in one bookmark is this: Lord teach me to be daring, to venture into the open seas where the storms shall show thy mastery, where losing sight of land, we see the stars. This prayer always gives me courage and refreshment because it touches on one element that everything in the universe is composed of: unity and struggle of opposites. Here are a few examples: without knowing sorrow, we cannot know joy; without absence, we will not understand the meaning of someone’s presence; without pain, there is no gain; without sacrifice there is no freedom; without death life would lose its texture and meaning; and so on and so forth. It is written in Tao te Ching, Gravity is the root of lightness. Quiescence is the master of motion. Actually all of life is made of it. Without male and female, there would be no human beings to speak of. Without the positive and negative poles, there would be no electricity; without day and night, we have no 24 hours to speak of. This in a sense gives us hope that despite the darkness of our world, light is sure to come!:
