From a friend’s song, “Where do we go from here? Where do your dreams take you? If you had a choice to BE right now, what would your heart choose to do?” The change of seasons is a good place to begin in the journey of understanding ourselves.

In the USA, we experience visible changes in nature from season to season. We start each of nature’s seasons with a celebration of a Spring or Fall Equinox, or a Summer or Winter solstice, which we can feel deeply stirring within us. At this time of year, we see a turning of the tides and a quickening of the wind, colder and stronger. The running of the sun is at its furtherest point away from us and the changing and dropping of leaves is nearly through.

That which we see of our external world is a reflection of what is occurring in our hearts, manifesting physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The cycle of life requires change. What we don’t realize is that it doesn’t matter whether we choose to resist or flow with nature. As we move or rest, all of nature, within and outside of us will twist and turn to adapt, as we do with it. In any situation, our dream will continue to unfold. All of nature is meant to manifest in the pause and movement of what is being preceived in any given moment. Thus, we live the dream awake, in that which we think and feel–the universal dance. It is through the simplest acts of our being, as breathing and letting go of what doesn’t work anymore.

So, where do we go from here? How do we get in sync with nature, believing the dream alive? In a word: Wonder. Begin to question nature and yourself. Ask often: Who?, What?, When?, Why? and How? The possibilities are endless for questions and answers within nature and ourselves. Our dreams, choices, connection and parallel courses with nature become clearer with this practice. Soon we have but to be in the space of wonderment and the answers arrive in volumes. For one who exercises or stretches regularly and enjoys a healthy eating lifestyle, the dance of life comes easier. It is like hundreds of pieces of fruit are suddenly available, because he or she took the time to ernestly plant one seed.

Ultimately, where we chose to BE is a moment to moment choice. Living in a state of wonder brings us into balance with nature, the walking meditation. We don’t have to get anywhere anymore, when we’ve been here, living the dream all along.
