I still remember the sweet face and unerring smile
A gush of welcome, a warmth that reaches a mile
The memory of your sweet love sears my mind,
An unbroken touch of love divine.

Life is a celebration of joy and pain
A time in the sun and then comes rain
Death is a mystery so great to behold
All comes to pass, our moments will not last.

But through all the highs and lows,
The rich and poor, the presents and the blows
There remains a bittersweet taste, of memories laced
Of friendships that last, as times run fast.

We all will die but what the heck,
Our loved ones will pass, but next is our neck.
But the point of life is not in dying but in living,
The breathtaking moments of love and caring.

Yet through it all there’s one consolation
The essence and the end of all our life’s mission,
To give when there’s no more to give,
To be willing to fight, when we are up against the darkest night
To have faith, to hope, and to love without reservation.

The pressures of life will take its toll,
Our minds may break, our bodies may fall
But whose to say who’s lost when through it all
We loved our best till the moment of death’s call.

So we will embrace death in all of it’s sweetness
Because we have lived in strength and meekness.
Death will be conquered and it will shed off its mystery
Because our love made an indelible mark for all eternity.
