What Is Peace?

Peace To Me

Peace for me means God's Reign on Earth as it is in Heaven. I don't mean it as an abstract and elusive state or an impossible dream. In its concrete and tangible form, it means food for the hungry and freedom for the oppressed. It means jobs for the people and justice for the needy. It means land for the landless and liberation for the poor. It is clothing for the naked and healing for the sick. It means a wholesome life with freedom and goodwill. These are but simple concepts that seem so hard to realize in this dark world of ours. We have reached the pinnacle of civilization and yet remain barbaric in our social system. We have created so much affluence and yet multiplied global poverty exponentially. We have pursued unlimited growth to the point of destroying our very planet.
