Major historical upheavals and great leaps that would forever change the world are not only brought about by necessity to change the deteriorating world order but also by the dreams that people weave in their search for a better world. Not only does circumstance force humanity to yearn for change but also compel humanity to dream and make this dream come true. Martin Luther King's speech "I have a dream" captured the hearts and imaginations of millions of blacks to fight for equality. In the same way, our visions of a better world no matter how small, are but tiny drops of rain that would precipitate into a giant storm that would transform the world. Our dreams break through the darkness and chaos of our age and give us strength not only to survive the day but to chart another destiny. Our dreams are glimpses of a new and better horizon yet unrealized. Robert Fulghum in his book, "It was on fire when i laid down on it", shares The Story Teller's Creed which goes like this: I believe the imagination is stronger than knowledge....That myth is more important than history....I believe that dreams are more powerful than facts...That hope always triumphs over experience....That laughter is the only cure for grief...And I believe that love is stronger than death.

I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?
