I was recently listening to Alan Watts - Don't Take Life too Seriously
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vv93azMkDE and I think this man was so ahead of his time. Whenever I listen to him speak, I get goosebumps, I always start thinking new thoughts and get new ideas. What do you think of Alan Watts? Do you listen to him?

Alan Watts along with Wayne dyer are two of my favorite authors. One of my favorite quotes is from Alan Watts.

Only the wise man, only he whose thoughts are controlled and purified, makes the winds and the storms of the soul obey him." This brilliant quote is from James Allen's "As a Man Thinketh," emphasizing that inner peace and mastery come from controlling and purifying one's thoughts.

@steven I love both Wayne Dyer (I cried when I heard he had passed away) and Alan Watts (I wish I had a chance to be there at one of his lectures)! Whenever I feel down, overwhelmed or in need of some kind of motivation I always turn to these two lovely guys (I have others that I also like as well). Alan has that gift of making everything seem easier, of being able to explain complex topics in such a simple way that even my small brain can understand. And he does it in such a peaceful way, without attacking someone else, just remaining positive throughout his explanation.

If you haven’t already I highly recommend watching “The Shift” with Wayne Dyer. It’s such an amazing experience and shows how we can all find happiness. And now that I think about it, I think it’s time for me to watch it again because it’s been some time…

@kenny  OMG! Thank you so much for recommending “The Shift”! I watched it and I was in tears! I felt Wayne talking directly to me and I’ve written down some changes I’m going to make right away to live a more meaningful life! Thanks so much, Kenny!

I highly recommend reading "The Wisdom of Insecurity" by Alan Watts. For me, this is a timeless book that is bound to help any reader in some way.

I wish they’d teach Alan’s teaching in schools and talk about them. This world would be such a different place if that were to happen. It’s hard to imagine this could ever be the case seeing as our education system is not in a very good place, but it’s ok to dream, right?

Yep, just imagine kids learning about Alan Watts, Wayne Dyer, Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar, Dale Carnegie and so on. I think we would be in a whole different stratosphere as a species if our children had access to these kinds of teachings from an early age. And we shouldn’t just wait around for our schools to do this but do what we can so that more and more kids and adults get to know about these people.

It’s amazing that we have all this knowledge available at our fingertips (the internet) and still so many of us don’t know about these wonderful people. How is that possible? How do we not search for better ways to learn, better people to learn from?

@maya-miller  It’s because not all are curious enough to search for this or we’re complacent in our way of life and don’t want more or we’re just swept by the daily struggle and worries. And we often can forget there’s more to this life than running around and making enough money to survive and pay our bills.
