Sit and watch children for a bit and the uniqueness and blessings of youth come alive. There is an amazing and saddening contrast that becomes apparent: the radiant and nearly mystifying intelligence of the child compared with the fearful controlling mentality of most adults.

Read Eastern tradtions and you will discover that children posess a beginners or iniate mind. This allows them the gift of awe and fascination with all that the world has. They are open to experiencing and discovering new things. To the child, the initiate, life is a great adventure and truly anything is possible.

Yet it is as we grow older, seek to not make mistakes, avoid our fears, control the world around that what makes us seem 'educated' stifles our joy and curiosity. In loosing touch with this awe and freedom we forget not just how to dream but how to create the dreams, how to manifest.

It is a blessing that we are gifted with the ability to grow from our perspectives, to even change them.. in the snap of a finger, a tap of the foot, a blink of an eye!! Truly in a second we can again be free, letting the mind explore for if the mind is not active it is in essence dead.

In this process of opening, of curiosity, of freedom, we begin to truly see the world around us and discover what is really important.

As you explore and think creatively, and let your curiosities expand think about your life.... what you may be struggling with.. health, relationships, education, jobs, finances, social activity, all aspects of your life. Find the challenges, what needs your attention in the form of expanding to see more views, of playing with ideas and actions.

One measure of our ability to live in freedom with that 'initiate' mind is a level of success not if things are difficult but whether its the same stresses as last year.

As you move through the stresses and let them go, remembering that sense and action of exploration, curiosity and freedom your purpose unfolds. The work you do is only your career and passion when you pour yourself completely into it and then even in stress and long hours there is a joy and the vision of producing of accomplishment.

It is in this simple aspect of life that we find the space - the weekend that lasts forever. We discover the spaces in our day that can be free from demands, expectations, judgements, and deadlines. We discover the free time that is rich with potential. The worlds that are open to us. How much we can and do grow with freedom and ease with our dreams.

Find your child, your curiosity, your initiate state, your passion, your freedom....

"Deny children -- or anyone else -- the chance to do 'nothing,' and we may be denying them the chance to do 'something' -- to find and do any work that is truly important to themselves or to someone else." John Holt

"One cannot make a slave of a free person, for a free person is free even in a prison." Plato ~Namaste, Debra Macking
