The ghost I had starting seeing at the age of seven and had the same nightly ritual of appearing in my parents doorway, stopping to look at me, and continuing down the stairs went on for as long as I lived in that house.  Our ritual never changed and I grew up with this nightly ritual as part of my life.  I never told anyone.  My sister 2yrs younger then I had a fear of the house also but she never mentioned anything of ghost nor did I to her.  Neither of us went anywhere in the house without the other, though.  When I was about the age of 14 and she 12, my parents divorced and my Mom moved out of the house.  My Dad gave me his and my Mom's room as my bedroom.  I did not last more then a couple nights before inviting my sister to share the room with me.  It is at that time I confided in her what I had been seeing for years and she confided in me that she had been seeing something too. We both descibed what we had been seeing and our stories were quite similiar. Being the good Catholic teenagers we were, a ouija board with friends sounded like fun especially in a house that probably contained some sort of entitiy.

Everybody's seen Amittyville!  Of course, none of our parents were going to buy us one so we had to make one.  We cut out letter/numbers/yes&no and laid them on a dining room table padding and used a shot glass and to our surprise it actually worked.  We asked the ghosts name and she told us her name was Ruth and so from then on that is what we called her.  Still not convinced we didn't have any pushers trying to make the game interesting we asked for a sign...that is when the phone rang and I picke it up and it said "please deposit 25cents".  This was a home phone.  Still not so sure we wanted more evidence...so we asked for another sign.  It was summer so we had our door open with the screen letting air in. The front door started to jerk forward.  This door wasn't a flimsy door that could be blown in the wind....it was a solid wooden door.  We ran over and stood leaning agains the door yet it continued to push forward towards closing.  How quickly can 4 teens evacuate a house!!

What did we do....

I had an event happen when I played with a Ouija Board I picked up at a garage sale.  The person just gave it to me but warned me that it was dangerous. They even tried to burn it but the fire kept going out. So they just decided to give it away to anyone that looked at it. So my first night with it, I gathered some of my football buddies around it and we played find the ghost in the house. Not much happened that night because we were all moving it around. But the next night, I played with it alone and the viewer pad flew off of the board and shattered a mirror on the other side of the room.  When I looked up at the broken mirror, I saw a silhouette of a person quickly hide in my closet.

I turned back to look at the closet and the door was closed. But; when I looked back in the mirror, the door was open...I'm really brave, So I screamed and ran out of the room. I went back with my friends and got the Ouija Board out of the room a few days later. The strangest part, That closet door will not stay closed anymore and it has acquired a spooky squeak to it and occasionally opens by itself.
