Hmm... that's such a difficult topic that needs a lot of thought. Some of these practices are so ingrained in certain people and cultures that it could prove impossible to change them. I think it all depends on each individual and what they would better respond to. I guess this is, in a way, a negotiation (I know it might sound weird to phrase it this way). You are negotiating with someone with the goal of them not hurting an animal. I think we need to get much better at negotiation for this to have a chance of working.
