What’s your top tip for staying motivated in fitness? 💪✨
Great question. I actually struggle with motivating myself to exercise; however, last fall I sustained a neck injury from a fall (and a brain injury). The neck injury will be life long and the only way to actually help it is if I stay active and exercise. Building muscle will help support my neck more and result in less pain. Even with that knowledge, I've felt demotivated.
But I have good news! I worked out today! I think what motivates me when I am struggling is having an accountability partner - specifically, my wife. She encourages me to exercise with her and that means a lot to me.
So, the top motivating factors for me:
1. Physical strength and improving my health, reducing my newly chronic pain.
2. Having someone keep me accountable.
3. Trackers such as fitness apps.
4. Leaning into what I find enjoyable! If I am bored by my workout, I won't want to do it again. I have been enjoying exercise videos on Youtube. They keep things interesting for me!

@laurat Thank you for sharing your story—it's incredibly inspiring. It’s not easy to stay motivated, especially when dealing with chronic pain, but it's great to hear that you're finding ways to push through. I completely agree with the power of having an accountability partner, and it’s wonderful that your wife is there to support you. Staying active for your health and well-being is such a powerful motivator, and it's amazing that you're able to use both that awareness and fun methods like YouTube videos to stay engaged. Keep going—you’re doing an awesome job.
