What steps do you suggest to make our cities greener and cleaner?

@ahsan We can promote public transportation, plant more trees, reduce waste, and encourage recycling. Additionally, supporting local clean-up initiatives and using renewable energy sources can significantly contribute to greener and cleaner cities. - Promote Public Transportation
Encourage the use of buses, trains, and cycling to reduce traffic congestion and emissions.
I love this question! In Montreal, the local government has dedicated itself to creating a greener city by this year. This includes supporting more green roof projects so there is less wasted space on a building's flat roof, picking up recycling weekly and garbage biweekly, and making it so you must use clear waste bags for your garbage. The goal is to help encourage transparency.
In Ontario, recycling is picked up weekly and garbage is picked up biweekly with limitations on how much waste you can produce. These types of restrictions are a fantastic way to encourage people to be more conscientious about their waste production. People are more likely to recycle their recyclables because they know it will be taken quicker.
We also have composting programs in Canada that are run at the same level as garbage and recycling. Compost pick up is weekly as well.
These are only a few initiatives that can help create greener cities. Planting more trees, using flat roofs as an opportunity to plant foliage, protecting park spaces so that they thrive in the city, discouraging household waste production and encourage responsible recycling and composting practices.
