What are your thoughts on legislation and policy regarding the most effective ways to lobby for stronger animal welfare laws
Supporting animal welfare organizations is something I'd do. They have experience and resources to drive legislative change. Groups like the Humane Society, PETA, and World Animal Protection have legal teams, lobbying power, and public influence. Support these organizations through donations, volunteering or advocacy so they can push for better laws.
Follow the money (it always works). Pressuring corporations that profit from animal cruelty can lead to industry-wide change. Many industries, like factory farming and animal testing, rely on consumer demand. If (some) people would stop buying products linked to cruelty, companies will have to change their practices. Boycotts and ethical consumerism can force businesses to adopt higher welfare standards. And also encourage ones that are doing it the right way.
