It can be for a weekend, a week, or a month. You can live in your vehicle and travel the world. But with all the excitement, it's wise to prepare for your van life and van camping adventures.

There are many Tips I could add...But my tips might not be applicable to you as everyone's needs our different.

Here are some of mine that maybe applicable to you.

Van life tips for camping:

Get a van that can sleep four people - Get a van that has a fridge - Get a van with a stove - Get a van with a toilet - Get a van that has a shower - Get a van with a sink - Get a van with a place for your stuff - Get a van that has a place for your bike - Get a van that has an entertainment system.

And here are some recommendations I have for Finding The Right Van For Your Needs

A great thing about van life is that you start with basics such as a bed, and gradually add amenities that you like.

With a van you can place a mattress on the floor, or if you have a couple of sturdy hooks inside that are attached well, a great space saver is a hammock. With hammocks, you can put them up when it's time for bed and take them down during the day.

Some factors that you may consider before getting the van of your dreams

Dependability

This should be your most important factor in selecting your vehicle. Since your van will be your home and transportation it's vital to make sure that your van is mechanically sound. If you are shopping for your future van life vehicle be sure to take these steps.

  1. Ask for papers showing regular maintenance was done to keep the vehicle in good working order.
  2. When test driving listen for any noises that sound irregular.
  3. Good tires are important making sure they have plenty of tread on all four tires.
  4. Look underneath to see if you see any oil leaks on the ground.

If it passes these...have a mechanic you trust look it over.

Height and Length

It's important that you find a van that you feel comfortable in as you will be spending much of your time in it. If you are tall you may consider getting a high top van so that you can move about without hunching over. The longer your van the more space you will have for ammenities, however, you will find parking your van easier with a shorter version.

Gas Milage

Unless you plan on staying in an area most van lifers enjoy exploration and that means finding new spots to play. This means adding many miles to your vehicle.

Hope you find these tips useful 🙂
