After a couple years of going to yoga classes and following along with Rodney Yee dvd's, I realized that I can utilize yoga techniques throughout my everyday life as well. At work when sitting or standing, just changing my posture helps with this. For example: instead of bending down, I use a "powerful pose". When at my desk, there are many different sitting poses and cross legged bends. Some people look at me funny and ask "what the heck are you doing?" I just tell them, "I am training to become a yoga master" and smile! Try it! Enjoy
Wonderful posting Jason,
I'm here at the computer long-hours every day and I've been doing some of those funny looking seating positions too.
Yes folks, it is totally possible to swing your scanner over to a low table beside the computer and do leg stretches on it etc... while you're typing. Those plastic covers are pretty sturdy!
Happy Thoughts Jason! Catherine
Thanks for this post Jason - I've been terrible about letting myself get too busy and not making the time for meditation, yoga, stretching, walking, etc. - thank you for reminding me how easy it is to incorporate healthful practices into your day!
With discipline like that I have no doubt in your ability to become a yoga master
I've found that yoga has also taught me how to deal with stress better especially at the workplace. When everyone else is up in arms over something, I simply practice my breathing techniques and am able to calm myself down and deal with the situation in a rational way. I think yoga is not only good for me physically but mentally too.-Vega Sinclair
