Introduction

I’ve always been a huge fan of sustainable living, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized how much fun it could be. In fact, after meeting some like-minded individuals at a sustainable lifestyle workshop, we decided to build an eco-village together! We all shared the same concerns about our impact on the planet and wanted to do something about them by creating new ways to live sustainably. Building an eco-village was exactly what we needed—and so many others are doing it too! Here’s what you’ll need to know if you want to start building your own today:

There are many reasons for building an eco-village.

There are many reasons for building an eco-village. These include:

  • Sustainability – to live in a way that is ecologically balanced and in harmony with the natural environment (this is also known as permaculture)
  • Environmental protection – to protect the health of our planet by reducing pollution, cutting down on waste, and helping to preserve biodiversity
  • Ecological balance – using Renewable Energy sources, recycling materials etc.
  • Community building – creating communities where people can live together without needing to rely on money or having jobs (which means less stress!)
  • Self-sufficiency – being able to produce enough food and water for everyone living there without relying on imports from other places or having expensive deliveries every week
  • Health & wellbeing – by reducing stress levels through community-building activities such as gardening or cooking we can improve our mental health too!

Finding a location may be the biggest challenge to overcome.

Finding a location may be the biggest challenge to overcome. Since you’re going to live in a small community, you’ll want to make sure that it’s as close as possible to nature and public transport. You’ll also want your community’s living area to have plenty of water, internet access, and some sort of transport link with other nearby cities or towns so that you can easily go out for groceries or see friends. You might even want your eco-village near a large body of water like the ocean or lake so that you can enjoy swimming in your spare time!

The size of the eco-village is another important consideration.

The size of the eco-village is another important consideration. Size depends on the needs of your community. A small eco-village may be able to sustain itself with just a few dozen members and some basic amenities, but if you want to build something more large-scale, then your village will need more people to do so. The size of your community should also be small enough so that everyone knows each other. This will help foster a sense of unity among all members, which is essential to creating an effective community where everyone works together towards common goals and contributes their own unique skills and talents.

Ensure that you have a proper plan in place to build your eco-village.

  • Ensure that you have a proper plan in place to build your eco-village.
  • Make sure that you have the resources to build it.
  • Make sure that you have the right people helping you build it.
  • Make sure the location is suitable for an eco-village

Find the right people to help you build it.

  • Find people who are willing to help.
  • Find people who have the same vision as you.
  • Find people who are willing to learn from you.
  • Find people with the skills necessary for your project

Lay down the basic necessities.

Once you’ve started building your eco-village, it’s important to lay down the basic necessities. You’ll need a house for yourself and your family members, who will help with some of the work that needs to be done around the village.

You’ll also need to set up a farm so that you can grow crops for food.

You might want to build a school where children will learn about agriculture for them to help with farming later on in their lives.

Since education can be crucial in an eco-city, we recommend setting up a store where people can buy supplies they need like clothing or books. If there are stores nearby, they should not only carry these items but also offer services such as banking so that people living here don’t have faraway places where they must go just because they want something small like groceries!

The design of your village should be such that it blends in with nature.

When you start building your eco-village, the design of your village should be such that it blends in with nature. It is important to make sure that the materials used for construction are sustainable and easily available at hand. If possible, use recycled items like old doors or windows to build houses and furniture. You can also make use of tree branches which can further be carved into pieces of furniture.

You can also try making huts by using mud bricks filled with dried leaves and grasses as insulation material instead of using glass wool or polystyrene foam (EPS) which have adverse effects on human health. While designing your eco-village from scratch you can incorporate elements from nature such as trees, flowers, and water bodies so that the overall appearance of your eco-village looks natural rather than artificial.

Use alternative, renewable sources of energy to power your village.

You should consider alternative and renewable sources of energy to power your village. Although solar, wind, hydroelectric and geothermal energy may be difficult to harness at first, they are effective ways for a community to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. Biofuels such as ethanol can also be used as an alternative fuel source if you’re looking for another option beyond solar power.

Make sure that everyone staying in your village knows the importance of sustainable living and helps in incorporating it into their daily lives.

Once you’ve decided to build an eco-village, it’s important to make sure that everyone who is going to be living there understands and agrees with the concept of sustainable living. Make sure they understand the ways they can contribute to making your village as sustainable as possible. If someone isn’t on board with this idea, then it may not be worth keeping them in your community.

If, however, everyone has bought into the idea of sustainable living and you’re ready for them all to move into their new homes and start building up their community together as one big family (which will be awesome), then great! You’re ready for step four:

It takes teamwork and innovation to create a sustainable community, but it’s worth it!

When you’re building a community, you need to be sure that everyone has the same goals. If there’s no consensus about what we want for our future, nothing will work. We’ve found that when people are excited about their role within the village and feel like they have input in how things develop, they become more invested in making it succeed. If someone feels left out or disrespected because of a decision made by others, you run into problems down the line with how smoothly your whole operation runs.

Additionally, one of the most important things is having realistic expectations: don’t expect to build something overnight! It takes time for any community to grow up—we’ve found that building slowly over time tends to result in happier residents who are more willing to stick around even as things change (as they inevitably do). You also need good planning and leadership skills; without them, it’ll be difficult keeping everyone on track toward common goals.

Conclusion

As you can see, there is a lot that goes into building an eco-village. But there are many people out there who are willing to do what it takes to make this dream happen. This is also a major dream of Bliss Planet and we are inspired to make this dream come true. With the right support and determination, we can all build a better world tomorrow!
