I am not sure if there’s a god,
For many i know it’s just a fad,
To believe in god so they can say,
I will be going to heaven someday.
But heaven is just a consolacion,
To ease the fear of death and derision,
I don’t want to believe in god that way,
Just to cover my fear and save my day.
Some say god is my strength and my salvation,
If only to justify their unbelievable oppression,
Conquer the weak and hold them at bay,
Saying its God’s will so just accept your fate all the way.
I will not succumb to a false god of oppression,
That confuses my mind, take off my decision.
I would rather be strong, reason out and take action,
Rather than be fooled by the rich in such an illusion.
Yet I look to the heavens filled with mystery and grandeur,
I look at myself a speck of the universe in miniature,
I look at the Earth’s evolution and what do i see?
Inside me and around me is an unspeakable mystery.
I know my mind has its own limitations,
Reality is greater than even our best interpretations,
A voice of love and compassion speaks from deep inside of me,
A Divine Mind that pushes us towards the best that we can be!
