You know the old saying that “90 percent of life is showing up?”
Well it’s time to put that saying into practice.
We need you to join us at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s (FWS) public hearing in Albuquerque, NM on October 4th to help save Mexican gray wolves — commonly referred to as lobos.
This hearing is our chance to show key decision makers at FWS that Americans support stronger recovery efforts for Mexican gray wolves and oppose the misguided effort to delist nearly all gray wolves.
To ensure you are fully prepared to testify and/or attend the hearing, Defenders of Wildlife would like to invite you to a fun and educational Save the Lobo pre-hearing event. Please RSVP Today!
Mexican gray wolf recovery can no longer be delayed! Our best chance to help this struggling wolf population will be by showing up in droves at these public hearings and speaking out on behalf of our lobos! Even if you would prefer not to testify, your presence will make a huge difference and show just how strongly Americans support wolves!
During the Save the Lobo event, supporters like you can gather and meet fellow wolf lovers, make signs for the hearing and rally, and get briefed by Defenders experts on the dire situation that both gray and Mexican gray wolves are facing. We’ll also guide you on how to give effective testimony if you choose to speak at the hearing.

Time: 3:30 to 4:00 pm: Meet fellow wolf supporters, grab snacks, enjoy kids’ activities, and visit informational tables from partner environmental organizations
4:00 to 4:45 pm: Get last-minute updates about the proposal and get trained by Defenders staff on how to testify
4:45 pm: Sign up to testify. Feel free to return to the event site after signing up to make signs and practice your testimony!
5:00 to 5:45 pm: Hear from some amazing wolf advocates, and rally with fellow supporters
6:00 pm: The public hearing starts
*Light snacks and refreshments will be provided
After the Save the Lobo event, we’ll make our way to the public hearing in the Sandia Room (also in the Embassy Suites) and ensure that FWS hears our voices loud and clear!
The opposition and wolf-haters will likely be there in force, and FWS needs to know that the vast majority of Americans favor continued protection for our beloved wolves!
You can help deliver that message just by showing up! So please — join us in Albuquerque and speak out for wolves!
