Oh! The sadness of woman!
Forever filling the void
Within themselves
Cutting and purging,
Until freedom is lost,
To the gilded cage of beauty.
Remember then your kin,
The ones who came before,
For this is your face,
Your height and your shape.
They rest within you,
Made you as you are.
Do not dishonor the gift of you.
So forget them not,
Those from which you came.
Their hardships and joys are
Yours as well as theirs.
Created as they were,
As your children will be.
See for yourself that you are beauty.
