Today I made a promise,
To never change my ways,
To be me and only me,
Despite society’s ways.
I made the promise to myself,
So I never forget,
Not who they wanted me to be,
But who I wanted to be.
I made that promise for myself,
So I did not get lost in empty words,
So I could be happy,
And tell the world my OWN words.
I made a promise to be me,
And never anyone else,
Because you see I already was happy,
Happy as could be.
