Home to the tufted Puffin and an amazing diversity of birds. Other animals that thrive in this refuge include sea lions, seals, sea otters, caribou, bears, coyotes, beavers, foxes, muskrats, wolf packs, moose, walrus, river otters, marten, whales, Dall sheep and the Canadian lynx.

The Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge has a total area of 4.9 million acres and has 2,400 islands, rocks, headlands, islets, spires and reefs in Alaska.

  • Volunteer Positions – Full and part time available spring through Summer.
  • Duties – Support wildlife surveys, guide tours, and educate visitors in conservation.
  • Cost – Free in exchange for service. RV pads with full hook ups.
