“Gratitude is riches. Complain is poverty.”

Doris Day

The most challenging part of my life is also what propelled the most growth. In my mid twenties I began experiencing neck pain from a health condition called spasmodic torticollis. The pain and spasms became intense most of the day and interfered with restful sleep. I was prescribed medicine that led me to experience severe depression. After almost a decade of extreme pain and suffering, I developed a wellness system with the help of my father, an innovative retired physician and nutritionist. That system we gift here on Bliss Planet focuses on creating optimal brain chemistry through mental techniques, healthy nutrition, exercise, limiting toxins, bioenergetics, and regular doses of positivity and eventually transformed into a wellness course. This course benefited me greatly to where the pain and spasms I experienced at such a high level for a decade became much less severe and propelled my mental and spiritually growth. I am grateful for the experience my health condition provided.

I would not have been able to appreciate and enjoy my life at the level I do now if I had never went through the extreme pain I experienced throughout those years. It’s helped me live a much happier life.

“I am happy because I’m grateful. I choose to be grateful. That gratitude allows me to be happy.”

Will Arnett

We can all have an optimistic view of the world if we realize that many challenges have their place in a beautiful world. If there were never hardships, the word appreciation could not exist. How would we know that something is indeed fun without experiencing something challenging? Many wonders would be taken for granted if it were not for contrast. When we work hard for something and it comes to manifest itself into form, it means that much more to us and the words “victory” and “accomplishment” therefore have meaning. Adversity can build an individual full of strength and success, or a life full of fear and disappointment. It is all up to the person what they choose to do with it. Many focus on the bad in a situation. This creates an environment in the mind for negative chemicals to flourish producing unhappy emotions.

Most of us wish to maximize our sense of well being and minimize our displeasure. Looking for the good in all situations and utilizing opportunities when they appear will foster healthy emotions. Transforming adverse situations into positive ones is a common occurrence with this mental pattern. “SEEK and ye shall FIND,” is a well-known verse from the bible. When seeking solutions, beauty, or possibilities in the presence of challenges the eyes will eventually FIND some form of good transforming the obstacle into a stepping-stone. These stepping-stones elevate your view so that you may see more beauty and live a happier and more productive life. When this art is cultivated, nourishment mentally and spiritually become a daily pattern and an exceptionally fruitful life will emerge.
