Your Future is a blank canvas!
Don’t Let Your Past Drag You Down
Don’t let your past drag you down. Don’t let it define you or ruin your future. You can be a better person than you were before, even if it takes time and effort.
“The past is not dead; it’s not even past.” William Faulkner
Don’t let your past drag you down.
The past is the past. Your future is a blank canvas, waiting for you to fill it with your dreams and aspirations. Don’t let yourself be held back by fears of a future that may never come true. You have no control over what happened in the past, but you do have some control over what you do next!
You are not your past! You can change who you are and how people see you by choosing to act differently today than yesterday or tomorrow than today! If life has dealt you lemons, don’t let them make lemonade; instead, turn those lemons into something sweet like cake batter or ice cream topping
I hope these words inspire you to change your life and not let the past drag you down. We can all be living proof that anyone can overcome the odds if they put their mind to it. All it takes is hard work and determination!
I published a children's story about a Little Cloud who wanted to be like all the Big Clouds in the 90's.
This is a different version:
A Cloud's Dream
Once upon a time, there was a small and fluffy cloud named Nimbus. Nimbus was happy to float around in the sky, but he always felt like he wanted to be more. He longed to be as big and majestic as the other clouds that surrounded him.
One day, Nimbus decided to set out on a journey to become like the other clouds. He floated towards the horizon, determined to find a way to grow and become more substantial. He drifted over mountains and valleys, past forests and rivers, until he saw a towering thundercloud in the distance.
"Excuse me, Mr. Thundercloud," Nimbus said, "Can you tell me how I can grow to be like you and the other big clouds?"
The Thundercloud boomed with laughter. "You want to be like me? You're just a small and fluffy cloud. You'll never be like me."
Nimbus was crestfallen. He floated away, feeling smaller than ever. But he didn't give up. He kept searching for answers. Soon he saw a gentle, wispy cloud floating towards him.
"Hello," he said. "Can you tell me how I can grow like the other big clouds?"
The gentle cloud smiled at him. "You don't have to be like anyone else. You are special and unique just the way you are."
Nimbus felt a glimmer of hope. "But I want to be more substantial, more important."
The gentle cloud said, "You might not be as big as the thunderclouds, but you can still make a difference in the world."
Nimbus thought about this. He realized that he didn't have to be like anyone else to be happy. He could be himself and still make a difference.
From that day on, Nimbus floated happily around the sky. He didn't try to be like anyone else. He was content with who he was and knew that he could make a difference in the world in his own way. Sometimes he would gently sprinkle raindrops on the fields below, and other times he would create beautiful rainbows in the sky.
The other clouds began to notice Nimbus's unique qualities, and they respected him for being true to himself. They realized that it wasn't about being the biggest or most substantial cloud; it was about being happy with who you are and living your life to the fullest.
Years went by, and Nimbus grew old, but he never forgot the lesson he had learned. He knew that it was okay to be different and that everyone had something special to offer the world. And so, Nimbus floated off into the sunset, content with the life he had lived and the difference he had made.
The end.
