A balanced diet is necessary for good health. A diet rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber along with sufficient water intake is essential to create a healthy body and prevent many western diseases. Many of us have gotten into the habit of grabbing something easy often packaged as we run out the door or rush from one event or appointment to another. If we changed unhealthy habits to healthy ones like grabbing a piece of fruit when we are on the run, our lives would quickly improve for the better. Another habit many of us need to break is the caffeine habit. How many of us just can’t get going in the morning unless we start the day with a cup of coffee? Many of us also add sugar to our coffee increasing the damage to our bodies. Our bodies then crave sugar and caffeine when they need an energy boost. Diets rich in fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and nuts can provide the nutrients the body needs. Avoid pork and fish (avoid shell fish and shark as they can be highly toxic). If fruit and vegetables are grown in nutrient-poor soils, however, you may need to take natural supplements. If you drink enough fresh water, avoid processed foods as much as possible, avoid caffeine and sugar, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, exercise regularly and are still not well, this is an indication that vitamin and mineral supplements may be necessary.
