First of all people have to want it. It is the best way to eat from what I’ve seen and the litrature. If you are interested it is a fabulous diet and a positive journey.
1. Have Fun
That is my first tip to keep it really positive and exciting instead of thinking that you can’t eat these seven animal groups realize that you can eat thousands of delicious variations of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, mushrooms, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices in infinite tasty combinations. And to explore and think positive of what you are going to add to your diet and foods that you have never tried before. Have you ever tried ruby quinoa, or jackfruit? There are so many foods that so many people haven’t explored and this whole new world opens up.
2. Find stuff you love and enjoy it
The second thing I would say is to explore a wide variety. Figure out something that you love and veganize it. Now you can search on Google for a plant based version. It’s never been an easier time as there is so much information and recipes at your fingertips.
3. Connect with like-minded people
That have been doing it for so many years that will have a lot of great tips for you. There are some great social media groups out there with so many people out there that want to shout it from the rooftops and connect to other like minded people for that support.
4. Notable Nutrients
Fourth tip for going plant-based is to make sure you are mindful of your notable nutrients. So if you go to my website plantbaseddietitian.com or social media at Julieanna Hever you will find videos on notable nutrients along with six books to empower yourself, to help you know what to be mindful of and to handle it in a strategic way. Because like any diet no diet is perfect and every diet requires being attentive to it

5. Plan
What I find helpful for a lot of people particularly in the beginning is to plan your week ahead of time. So if you have some time on Sunday that you can cook for the rest of the week to make that quinoa with
sautéed vegetables, beans, and avocado…but everything else you could have ready so you are not stuck at the refrigerator door thinking that you might not be able to do it. You will know that you can do it because you already planned out what to do and made it. After a while you will have your go to recipes for food and snacks. You are starting a new habit so give it a little prep time in advance.
