Hi, I’m Tanner, so I’m the owner of Gain Kindly, so that’s a fully vegan, like 100% plant-based meal prep company. I went vegan at the end of June, and I had been, like, wanting to go vegan for a while, but I just, like, was not educated.
I didn’t know a thing about it. I literally thought that vegans ate, leaves and, like, salad, and, like, that was it. I had no idea. So, one of my friends that was supposed to be here tonight, but he’s stuck at work, so he’s not here. I had seen on Instagram that he had been vegan for a while, and we actually hadn’t talked in a really long time. But I sent him a message on Instagram, and we got on a FaceTime call, and he was like, yeah, like, I’ve been vegan for, like, almost a year now. I feel really good.
And so I started asking him, like, what he was eating, and, you know, he’s telling me just a whole list of foods. And half the food I had never even heard of before, so I was like, alright.
And then I really questioned it the first couple of days. We had, I think we had three FaceTime calls, in a row. So the first and second day, I was asking him, okay, well, because he said there were alternatives for everything. So I was like, okay, well, what’s an alternative for this, and what’s an alternative for that? And then, you know, he told me, like, some alternatives. And then I started asking him about, like, kind of, like, smaller things, like, kind of more, like, difficult. I asked what do you eat for, like, cream cheese on, like, a bagel? Little stuff like that. And he literally had an alternative for everything within two seconds. And I literally was like, oh, my God, there really is an alternative for everything. This is crazy.
So that was the first and second night of FaceTime calls. And then the third night, we got on one more FaceTime call, and I don’t remember what I asked him. I just asked him a few different questions here and there. And then I was set. I was like, all right, I think I’m going to try it. And I didn’t know how I was going to do, because I go to the gym and stuff, too, and I’m still trying to build muscle and everything. And that was what all I was eating before was chicken, eggs. I mean, literally, I was eating that stuff every single day. I was eating, like, 15 eggs a day. It was insane. They know (pointing to parents). These are my parents. And every two seconds, they were like, oh, my God, you’re making eggs again. And I’m like, yeah. But, yeah, so that’s all I was eating.
So the third day, we got on a FaceTime call, and I was just like, all right, like, I think I’m going to try it. And so most people, when they go vegan, they kind of, like, transition into going vegan. They do it, like, slowly. And there’s, like, totally nothing wrong with that. Like, I think that’s, like, a good way to do it if you’re not, like, too sure. So, yeah, most people they start cutting out meat, and then they cut out dairy. They just start cutting out things slowly. But I’m, crazy, and I’m like, hey, if I’m going to do something, then I’m going to do it. So literally overnight, I just switched completely.
I was like, okay, tomorrow, I’m going to be 100% vegan. I’m not going to eat meat, dairy, like, nothing. So I just did it completely cold turkey, and the next day, I ate a fully 100%, plant-based diet all day long. And I haven’t stopped for five months. So, yeah, so that’s how I went vegan. Most people don’t do it like that, but I did.
So I started realizing, the health benefits of it. I mean, literally within the first, like, three days, I noticed my energy. I just noticed that I had so much energy. And I remember those first few days. I had to get up early for some reason. And usually, I hate waking up early. That’s just, it was not my thing. But within the first five days of being vegan, I was up at 6:30 in the morning, just like that. I just had so much energy, and I felt really good. And I, was thinking clearer, and I was just like, oh, my God, this is literally insane. He told me that a vegan diet was, like, magic. And it really is!
I was, like, oh, my God, like, this is crazy! So, yeah, within the first week, I felt like literally a new person, just 100% different! And before I had gone vegan, I think this was two years ago, I was having a lot of health issues. I was really, really small. I was 91 pounds, no muscle whatsoever. I was so skinny and just, like, frail and, like, just so small. And I was just having stomach issues and digestive issues. And, I was in and out of the doctor all the time for literally, two years straight. They never could figure out what was wrong with me. All they were trying to do was just, like, shove pills down my throat and, oh, you need to take this and you need to take that and whatever. And I just became so tired of it. I was, like, this is ridiculous. they’re not even figuring out the problem, you know. I was just getting, really irritated. I was, this sucks. I was in pain every single day for two years straight. It was horrible!
And then, so I went vegan, and I haven’t had one stomach issue since then. I haven’t had one digestive issue since then. So when people say that plant-based diets are, a cure for a lot of things, it really is! Because it obviously cured me and all my stomach issues, digestive issues, everything!
These chocolate peanut butter balls, these are 100% vegan, gluten-free, really, really low sugar. So, this is something that’s going to be on my menu. It’s just, like, a snack. I’m going to have three different kinds of these. But as of now, I’ll have, like, a few breakfast things. I have, like, bowls. I have wraps. And some of the bowls are going to be included with the cleanse that me and Tracy are going to offer and that we’re going to be doing. So, we’re just going to be working together now with the juice and the plant-based food. I just want to, really show people with this company, how you feel on a plant-based diet and what it actually does for your health. Because people don’t realize that—people don’t realize, like, you do get the right amount of nutrients on a vegan diet!
People are always like, well, how do you get your protein? And how do you get this? And isn’t soy bad for you? And blah, blah, blah. And you do get a good amount of protein on a vegan diet. Soy is not bad for you. If you guys have seen the documentary Game Changers on Netflix, it talks all about it. If you haven’t seen that documentary, you should watch it. It’s all about a plant-based diet, and it’s amazing. It explains everything. But, yeah, I just want to show people that what you eat, like, really matters!
And I think I was having so many health and stomach issues for the longest time just because of what I was eating. It was just garbage all the time. It was just horrible. And I hear this a lot, but a lot of people say, like, okay, well, you wouldn’t put bad oil in your car because then your car’s not going to run. So why would you do the same to your body? Like, why would you put a bunch of crap into your body? Because it’s not going to function, and it’s not going to, like, work right. Like, it’s just not. And, you know, if you eat bad all the time, you’re going to have no energy. You’re going to feel horrible all the time. And then you’re going to wonder why.
But then once you, even if it’s not a fully plant-based diet, once you just start, eating healthy and you put good food into your system, like, your system is going to return the favor. You’re going to see so many more benefits. And, like, Lindsey, if you’re bodybuilding, or like me, like, if you’re just trying to gain more healthy weight and more healthy muscle, people think that, like she said, people think that vegans aren’t strong and that bodybuilders can’t maintain a vegan diet and blah, blah, blah, blah. And that’s, not true.
Even since going vegan, I just feel healthier, and I just feel stronger, like, even at the gym. And even, two months ago, I couldn’t even do one pull-up by myself, completely unassisted. Like, it was impossible. And literally the other day, I just did six pull-ups all by myself, just like that. It was like nothing. And so, yeah, if you start on a plant-based diet, you really notice, like, the benefits. And I just want to show people that, plant-based diets, do work, and people do it for a lot of different reasons. You can do it for, whether it’s for the animals, the environment, your health, whatever. I’m doing it for all three reasons, but not everybody has to do it for those reasons, and that’s, okay. But, yeah, even just putting a few plant-based foods into your diet here and there, you’ll see a huge difference! And that’s what I want to do with this company, too. The nice thing about Gain Kindly is that we’re not here to judge people for the way that they eat. We’re doing it to educate and inspire people to eat healthier and just put better foods into their body. I just want to show people that once you eat healthier you will notice the benefits. And personally for me, like, you don’t have to do it for all three of those reasons. I do. But you notice a huge difference even if you just cut things out here and there.
You don’t have to do it completely overnight like I did, because that’s kind of crazy. But, even at home, like I said, these are my parents that live at home right now. But I’ve even gotten them to cut certain things out here and there. I don’t think they’ll ever go totally vegan. I want them to, but I don’t think they will. But, they’ll make, like, vegan tacos or, she buys, vegan butter now. Yeah, I got them to stop buying, cow milk and stuff. They don’t buy it anymore. So it’s just little things here and there. You do notice the difference. At first your kind of like, oh, l don’t know. But after you do it for a while, you will notice a difference.
I said, I noticed a difference in my energy within the first three, four days of being vegan. And I thought it was amazing. And people also don’t realize that food is literally medicine. You know, I personally don’t go to doctors anymore. But I do everything all naturally for the most part. So, no pills, no medication, no nothing. Because I do think that there is an all natural remedy for everything, no matter what it is.
Plant-based diets, they literally can reverse heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. So when they say a plant-based diet, it’s like magic. It really is!
Thank you.

I have a question. What is your opinion about eating based on your blood type?
I heard that A blood type tend to be more vegetarian than O. Do you know anything about that?
That, I don’t know about, like, blood types. But I know that on a plant-based diet, your blood and your blood flow is, like, a lot healthier than when you’re, like, not on a plant-based diet. Has anyone, like, seen Game Changers, that documentary on Netflix? Okay, whoever hasn’t seen it, you should totally watch it because it completely educates you on everything. It’s about vegan athletes and bodybuilders, but it doesn’t just focus on that it talks about a lot of the health benefits and stuff. They had something in the documentary. They had three athletes, and they had two of the athletes eat, I think it was, like, one chicken burrito. Another athlete ate a beef burrito, and then the third athlete ate a completely 100% plant-based burrito. And then afterwards, they did a blood test on every single one of them. I think it was a day later. I think it was the next day they did a blood test on all of them individually. So, the two people that ate the chicken burrito and the beef burrito, there, you can see in the tube that their blood was, like, completely cloudy. You couldn’t see through it, and it just looked, like, unhealthy. It did not look good. And then the guy that ate the plant-based burrito, they did a blood test on him. His blood was completely clear. You could see right through it, and it looked, like, super healthy. And that was just with one meal, and that was just one day later.
So, imagine you’re eating like that all the time. That’s what your blood looks like all the time, and that’s what’s going through your system all day, every day. So, I think this documentary makes people more, like, aware of, like, what actually goes on, like, in their bodies. And most people don’t want to know. They’re usually like, oh, don’t tell me that, or, like, don’t ruin this, or whatever. And it’s like, well, that’s the truth. Like, it’s the facts! That’s not even an opinion. It’s not anyone being judgmental. It’s just literally stating this is what’s going through your body every day.
So, yeah, that, I would watch that documentary if you haven’t seen it yet. But, yeah, I just want to make people more aware of, like, what they’re eating, because you start to feel a lot better, so.

And, yeah, you guys, I want to just kind of back her up a little bit. Yes, I’m her dad. That has nothing to do with this. What she told you is not sales. It’s not pitch. It’s not BS, because I’m her dad. And we were taking her to emergency rooms, and at 20 years old, she was having colonoscopies. And we could not figure out what the hell was wrong with this child. It was not good. And we were constantly at doctors, and we had all kinds of tests run on this kid. And they could not figure out what was wrong with her. But she changed, and I’m a self-proclaimed doubter, okay? I’m a straight-up meat eater, right? And she said she was going to do this vegan thing. And all those questions that she said people were asking her were the questions that I was asking her. And I’m like, okay, this is great, but what are you going to do for protein? What are you going to do to have a balanced, healthy diet? Because I’m an athlete myself. And she had answers for everything. And I said, okay, as long as you’re getting a balanced, healthy diet, I’m totally cool with it.
But when she started this vegan thing, everything stopped. Literally in the last six months, I’ve not seen a doctor. We’ve not had to have a single test. She’s fitter, stronger, leaner. She’s put on almost 10 pounds of muscle mass. The change is crazy!
And that’s coming from, like I said, I’m a self-proclaimed doubter. But I just sat back in my own house and watched this happen. So just so you know, that’s not sales and that’s not BS. That’s real life, everything that she just told you. It’s legit. So it’s pretty cool. And because I’ve seen it in her, it’s causing a little bit of a shift in my own mindset, right? So it’s a good deal. It’s a good thing to see!
Tanner
When I saw this girl, I was just jacked, right? She ripped. She looked so good. And he was like, yeah, she’s vegan. And I literally was so mind-blown. I thought, oh my God…what does she eat? I’m like, that is crazy! So right after I saw her Instagram was when I called my friend. And then we had that whole conversation and whatever. But, yeah, being a bodybuilder on a vegan diet is totally possible. A lot of people don’t think it’s possible. Thank you.

While many people associate building muscle or improving athletic performance with a high protein diet, plant-based options can offer even greater benefits. Consider yoga practitioners such as myself, who often thrive on a vegan lifestyle due to its positive impact on flexibility and joint health. By cutting out animal products, you reduce inflammation in the body, allowing for better recovery after intense workouts.
Furthermore, a vegan diet is typically rich in antioxidants and essential nutrients like vitamins C and E which are known for their role in muscle repair and improved immune function. Lastly, adopting a vegan lifestyle encourages mindfulness about the food choices we make every day. It can inspire individuals to become more intentional with their nutrition as they strive to find diverse ways of meeting their nutritional needs without relying on animal products. This shift towards conscious eating can lead to an increased focus on whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds – all of which are packed with vital nutrients that promote both overall health and fitness goals.
Embracing a vegan diet can benefit your fitness objectives by enhancing flexibility through reduced inflammation, supporting muscle repair through an abundance of antioxidants and essential nutrients like vitamins C and E found in plant-based foods.
