So how many people here would like to experience more vitality?

Who wants more energy?

Who wants both?

Alright, we’ve been sticking around all night. I want to tell you guys my story about how I came to be here. I’m Dr. Ben Benulis. This was almost 10 years ago. I was not a doctor. I was just some guy sitting in a cubicle working a job in the microchip industry. And I had been thin my whole life. I had never really had health problems. But I never really ate that well. I just kind of got away with eating a really poor diet. And I would be the kind of guy, when they passed brownies around at work, people would say, oh, that’s going to catch up with you later. You know, because I would take two or three brownies whenever I would be able to, but maybe take one. And I said, it’s not going to catch up to me. I have good genes. You know, I’m good. And the irony is that it did catch up to me, but not the way that anybody said it would. I never gained weight. But here’s what happened.

I got started developing chronic muscle pain where just my whole body, all my muscles ached. I started developing chronic fatigue where I was sleeping most of the weekend. And I was having a hard time getting up every morning. I developed eczema, skin issues on my hand where it was just rash both sides. Like I didn’t even want to shake people’s hand because they could see it all over my hands and they might think it was infectious.

So I didn’t want people to see my hands. I also developed probably the worst part was I developed terrible digestive issues where pretty much everything I eat upset my stomach. Like after every meal, I’ll be the guy who’s like, oh, I’m going to feel that later. And it got to where I was having sometimes where I would lie down after lunch. I would have to, like, lie down for like an hour and just clutch my side to go. Oh, why did I eat that?

And so it continued to progress and get worse. And so eventually I thought, I need to go see a doctor or something. But it took a while for me to go, oh, you know what? Actually, this is pretty bad because it’s like I can’t really, it’s getting in the way of my work. It’s getting in the way of my life. And it just continued to progress. So it got pretty bad. And I started, like Tracy, like Tanner, went to see doctors. And they said, well, we did a blood test and everything looks normal. You know, everything looks okay. You know, you’re fine, you know.

And no, I’m not fine. Here’s what I’m going through. My symptoms, digestion problems, muscle pain, chronic fatigue, brain fog, skin issues. Like what can you do for me? And they would just pass me on to another specialist who would kind of look at me and shrug their shoulders. And it was getting progressively worse. It was getting to where I was having to drink like two, three energy drinks a day just to, like, just to get through the day. Just to, like, be able to do my job. And I was really struggling with the brain fog. I was, like, a top performer at work and, like, things steadily declined where my boss had a meeting with me. It was around September of 2010. And he’s, like, hey, if you don’t get your act together, if January rolls around and you have your performance review, it might be time to, you know, look for another job, hint, hint.

So I was really in a bad way. And there was no – I did not see a way out. Medicine offered me no solution. I was, like, well, if I lose my job because I can’t work, like, then I’m going to lose my house. I’m, like, I don’t know what I’m going to do. And so it just got to the point where I got fed up. I was, like, forget it. These doctors, they can’t figure it out. I’m an engineer. I have some knowledge of science. Maybe I can just start reading up on it and figuring it out. And so the most pressing thing was my digestion. I’ve got to figure out something I can eat because everything I eat just destroys me. And the gastroenterologist told me, oh, what you eat doesn’t have any effect. Like, your diet has no effect on these digestive problems you’re having. Right? huh? Like, at the time, I was, like, oh, you’re the doctor. You can tell me? Of course. The food I’m eating couldn’t possibly affect it. Right? I mean, there’s this tube that runs through your body. And the inside of it is diseased, inflamed, and irritated. And the only thing that passes through this tube is the food that you eat. Yet somehow that’s not the cause of the tube – inside the tube being inflamed and irritated and diseased. Right?

So I got a blood test to see if I’m allergic to any foods. And the blood test comes back and you’re allergic to soy, gluten, brewer’s yeast, milk, dairy, wheat, eggs. Like, the list just went on. And I was, like, well, what am I going to eat? Gluten-free air sandwiches? You know? So I just started going to the health food store and buying, like, the gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, fun-free macaroni and cheese. Like, spoiler alert, it didn’t taste very good. Right? It was about three times the price. My grocery bill is, like, just going through the roof. I’m eating all this food that tastes like cardboard. And I’m really not feeling a whole lot better.

I guess I’ve got to eat healthier. But, like, I’m not a cook or do anything. And I just pretty much microwave everything. So there’s got to be, like, a lazy man version of, like, eating healthy. Right? So I think, okay, you know, the microwave, it’s like you take the food, you open the door, you close the door, you hit the button, and in a little while it’s ready. Maybe you could do the same thing, but with smoothies. Right? Like, you just take the fruits and vegetables, you jam them in there, you put the top on, you hit the button, and, like, 30 seconds later, you’ve got a meal. Right? It’s pretty much the same principle applied to it. And so that’s what I did.

I just took whatever was in the fridge, and I just started jamming it in the blender. Sometimes it would be, like, okay. And lo and behold, started to feel better. I noticed that it didn’t hurt my stomach when I drank these smoothies. And so I was trying to include more smoothies because basically it was just what made me feel good. I had no intention of, like, becoming a vegan or, like, healing myself or becoming a doctor. It was just, like, I just wanted to feel better because I was out of options. Like, the last thing I was willing to do was eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Last thing. But it worked. And the more smoothies I drank, the better I felt. And at one point I said, you know, sometimes when I’m making these, like, broccoli, you know, mango, banana, pear, collard green smoothies, they’re just not tasting that good. I don’t know. I can’t figure it out, you know. But maybe I should throw habaneros in there, you know. So I thought, okay, what if I looked up recipes on the Internet? Maybe I could get ones that would taste consistently good and I would drink more smoothies.

Anyway, that took me down a rabbit hole of Googling smoothie recipes on YouTube. Found a bunch of raw food people. Found a guy who was juicing in the back of his RV. And I thought, wow, it’s, like, juicing was, like, the next level up from smoothies, right? It was, like, just the nutrients just, like, basically pouring right into the bloodstream. So I was, like, okay, this blend is cool, but I’m getting a juicer. When I started hitting the green juice hard, that’s when things changed.

I remember I was working out at this personal training studio. And my workouts started to get, like, way better. Like, all my numbers, they’re tracking everybody’s numbers. And my trainer sits me down and says, man, what have you been doing the past month? Like, your numbers are, like, the best of anybody who works out here. And you, like, your strength to weight ratio, your max lift and all these things, your BMI. It’s, like, you’re the best client we have. Like, what’s your secret? What are you doing? Oh, funny you asked. Well, I’ve been doing this plant-based diet. I just eat, like, almost all fruits and vegetables. And it was, like, record scratch. Wait, wait, what? Where are you going to get your protein? But I just told you that, like, you just told me that I had, like, the best numbers of anybody who worked out in this gym. Like, what’s the problem? Yeah, but you’re not going to get any protein, and you’re going to die. I’m, like, I feel better than I’ve felt in my life, and I’m running up the best numbers. Like, I’m going to keep doing this. And so, it was in two to three months that pretty much all my symptoms went away. The chronic pain went away. I had tons of energy. Eventually, I was able to quit the energy drinks. The skin condition greatly improved. My digestion was world better. I started just, like, crushing it in performance in my job. I got better that, like, if I was, like, here, and then I got sick, and I came down to here, I had, like, slowly, slowly, I got home and just kept passing. Just kept leveling up my health, like, way beyond.

I just wanted to feel better in the beginning. I just wanted to not feel like I was dying and not, like, lose my job and my health and everything. And it’s just, like, the longer I kept with the program, the more and more benefits I kept seeing. I had so much energy. So, I started running as a side hobby, you know, and just lifting weights. Pretty soon, I was doing half marathons just because I was like, let’s run a race. You know, let’s do a tough one. Let’s do a half marathon. I just had the energy to do it. I was excited. I did it. Like, when you’re backed up against a wall with your health, and then you, like, rubber band snap all the way the other way, you want to evangelize. Like, we’re all doing tonight. And just share this message with other people.

So, I eventually changed careers. I was like, I need to be the guy who can help people back when I was sick and doctors couldn’t help me. Okay. So, I was living in Texas at the time. I was like, okay, I’m going to be a naturopathic doctor. They help people with nutrition and lifestyle. That’s what I do. And then I went and looked it up, and you can’t be a naturopath in Texas. I’m like, oh, what am I going to do now? I can’t do that. So, then I realized, a friend of mine told me, well, if you become a chiropractor, you can just basically do naturopathy in Texas, but just under the name of a chiropractor. I was like, done. I’m doing that. So, sold my house, sold all my stuff, moved, left all my friends, moved to California, started chiropractic school.

And so, I stumbled upon an energy-based style of chiropractic that helps people with a lot of these transitions. If you’re doing one of these juice cleanses, like a lot of changes are going to come up in your life outside of your body. It’s just what naturally happens. And so, what I do now, it’s an energy-based style of chiropractic. It’s called Network Spinal. And it basically works with the body’s own energy systems to basically like an upgrade to the operating system to help you through some of these transitions.

So, I want to do a demonstration. We’ve got a guy in the back filming, but Ben is one of my clients, and he’s had some pretty powerful transformations with me. And I just want to show you what this is all about. So, basically like working directly with his nervous system to have it unwind tension, unwind old patterns and habits and things that are holding him back.

Right now, I’m just looking for places to put light touches in the spine that tell the nervous system what to do. And Ben said, don’t blast me too hard today because last time it was real intense. So, we’ll just go really easy, okay?

This is involuntary movement, just in case anybody… I would say it’s voluntary. He doesn’t have to, but it feels good to do it. His body wants to unwind tension. So, this is not casting a magic spell on him, but it’s more just teaching his body to properly use strategies. Head to the right again. To the left. Back to center. So… Basically, putting touches in, telling his nervous system to reorganize itself. So, that happens at the physical level, but it also happens at the mental, emotional, spiritual as well. Okay. Cool. Almost done. Okay. Good. Take your time getting up and tell people a little bit about what you’re experiencing.

It’s a lot of different sensations in the body. As I heard someone mention, it’s completely involuntary. I would say I would have to force myself not to move. The urge is very much so to go with the flow of the energy while he taps on certain spaces on my body. So, honestly, I’m just doing whatever comes natural during sessions. Sometimes I’ve had sessions with Dr. Ben where it’s more emotional, where I literally have more energy, more of a cerebral sensation. And I’m having things from my past come up. Just like little things that I forgot about literally come back up during a session with my childhood and family.

So, it’s hard to process during a session, but it feels really, really gratifying to release. And then some sessions like this one here are just a little bit more physical. I’ve had some lower back issues, a couple of bulging discs in my L5, S1, and that area. So, having this just on a physical level is very, very healing in itself.

Before seeing Dr. Ben, I was going to just a regular chiropractor. And it would help, but it would only help for two week stops after the actual session. And then since seeing Dr. Ben, not only is it, like I said, a physical relief and sensation, but it’s long lasting. And it’s also helping with other things that aren’t necessarily physical. Things that are more energetic, things that are more emotional as well. So, every session brings a little bit of something new, but it’s definitely helpful. It’s been life changing for sure.
